This is my last month at Bridgeway Healthcare and Hospice. The time has gone by fast, and I know that it will be my last day there before I know it. Since it is the beginning of the month, I will be helping Mrs. Rita fill out forms and send out bereavement letters. The bereavement letters and forms can take a while to complete, but I enjoy helping Mrs. Rita out. I will also be doing other tasks around the office. Before the week of Thanksgiving, I will help decorate for Christmas. That will be my last week at Bridgeway.
This past week was busy with work. I did some filing and was hard at work filling out the bereavement forms and attaching the letter copies to the forms, labeling, and stuffing the envelopes with the letters, questionnaires, and stamping them. The forms and letters took a whole working day to complete. In the past when I helped Mrs. Rita with these tasks, I filled out the forms and did the letters on separate days. It was a lot to do in one day. I did not realize it at first when I was doing the bereavement tasks that it was All Souls Day in the Catholic Church and that the Catholic Church dedicates the month of November to the Holy Souls in Purgatory. I prayed for the people who are no longer with us and prayed that they get to spend eternity with God in heaven.

This week at Bridgeway Healthcare and Hospice, I will be doing work around the office and help pack for the move to the new building which will happen at the end of the year. The end of the month can be slow with work and things to do around the office. Packing will give me something to do, and it will help give people more time to focus on their work. Next week there will a lot of work to do with the bereavement letters which are sent out at the first of the month, so I get to look forward to helping Mrs. Rita with those.

There was a good amount of work that needed to be done at the office this past week. Ms. Kendra was preparing to attend a Halloween event for seniors and needed help making bags to bring. The bags had candy and hospice information cards in them. I also helped Mrs. Rita organize the forms used to make copies and helped Mrs. Kristin organize her paperwork. Another project that I worked on was helping Mrs. Bobbie, one of the founders of Bridgeway pack up her office. I was able to pack up a lot of her belongings.

This week at Bridgeway, I will be working around the office, attending IDG, and attend an Oktoberfest event at Jefferson Manor located in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Work tends to be slow towards the end of the month. A project that I can work on is helping Bridgeway employees get ready for the move. The Bridgeway location in Baton Rouge will be moving to a new building at the end of the year. The employees will need help with organizing, decluttering, and packing up their things before then. Moving is a lot to take on and with all of the work the employees already have to do, they will need extra help getting ready.

This past week was a good week at Bridgeway. I had the opportunity to work the front desk again this past week while the receptionist took her lunch break. Some other jobs that I did around the office were make phone calls to the caregivers telling them that their memory bears were ready to be picked up, making information packets for the marketers, filling out registration forms for the new admitted patients, and decluttering the volunteer storage station. I also attended an IDG meeting and went to an Oktoberfest event at Jefferson Manor.

This week at Bridgeway Healthcare and Hospice, will be working on various tasks such as, filing, paperwork, attending an IDG meeting, stocking, and organizing the supply room, shadowing Delayne, and working the front desk. I have not worked at the front desk at Bridgeway so it will be a new experience for me. It is something that I am looking forward to doing. To help me get an idea of what a front desk receptionist does, I will be shadowing Delayne. Delayne is the new front desk receptionist at Bridgeway. She did her internship with Bridgeway and loved the experience. After college, she was given the opportunity to work at Bridgeway and accepted. She will tell me what to do at the front desk while she is in orientation for Bridgeway.

This week was eventful at my internship. Working the front desk was a good experience for me. If the opportunity came up again for me to work the front desk again, I would definitely accept. Something else that I got to do this week that was new for me was help the nurses prepare bags for the patients. The bags contain items that they might need such as Boost supplements, briefs, and bed absorbent pads. Bridgeway also participated in an Alzheimer’s walk hosted and held at Blue Cross Blue Shield of Louisiana. I got to participate in the walk and work at the booth Bridgeway had at the event.

For this week at my internship with Bridgeway, I will be working on sending out the bereavement letters, stocking the supply room, and performing other office duties. The beginning of the month is a very busy time so there will be no shortage of tasks to get done. There will also be IDG meetings for me to attend to as well. I like the routine that I have been getting into with the work that I perform. Carrying out and completing tasks is helping me grow in confidence in my work and also in my everyday life.

This week was on of the busiest weeks that I have worked so far at Bridgeway. For work I made the monthly volunteer requests calls, stocked the supply room, attended an IDG meeting, did some filing, labeled, stamped, and sent out the bereavement letters, attended the morning Stand Ups, and created employee contact Excel sheets for the Baton Rouge and Plaquemine locations of Bridgeway. I was able to perform these tasks independently which made me feel accomplished. I also enjoyed interacting with the office staff. They are very helpful whenever they explain tasks that they would like me to do. They really love the work that they are doing and it inspires me to keep growing in my work.
